My name is Troy Ashman, and I am a Learning Experience Designer and Developer based in Wentworth Point, NSW (near Sydney Olympic Park). I have a keen interest and passion in developing complete learning solutions from conception to implementation, specialising in the tourism industry.
You might be thinking, what exactly does a learning experience designer do? Well, my simple answer is, I design high-quality, creative, and engaging learning experiences from end-to-end. But it’s really so much more than that, it also includes: learning and educational strategy, project management, marketing, design etc. With a number of years of Elearning development experience under my belt, I am constantly looking to push the boundaries of what I achieve with learning technologies and always looking beyond for the latest technologies (such as augmented reality, virtual reality, chatbots, immersive geographical experiences and more) to delight and engage my learners.
My skills vary from creating blended learning experiences through responsive multi-device eLearning tools and Interactive Storyline 360 courses to bespoke printed workbooks and learning resources, animated videos, designing, deploying and managing learning management systems, developing knowledge management solutions, curating corporate communications and marketing campaigns.
My years of 'on-the-ground' experience allow me to understand the first-hand knowledge employees need to know, their key skills and interests. My experience has come from my employment within a range of dynamic industries such as both the tourism, cruise, hotel and hospitality industries to customer service, retail and call centre environments.
My education and personal development has included an Advanced Diploma in Tourism Management (from Hunter TAFE), Certificate IV Frontline Business Management (from Hunter TAFE), a Diploma of Training Design & Development (from Royal Institute of Technology Melbourne) and numerous online self-development courses including b Online Learning, codeacademy, LinkedIn Learning and Treehouse.
MY FORMAL EDUCATION.
Education is important and I firmly believe we should never stop learning - encourage and aspire to become life-long learners. With this in mind, I am constantly looking for ways to expand my knowledge and ensure my skills are up-to-date.
Here as some of my recent achievements from Treehouse but I'm always adding more. Click each to explore more.
